Upgrade Neptune DXP - Open Edition on Windows

This upgrade procedure describes the basic minimum steps required to upgrade to Neptune DXP - Open Edition 24 locally.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Download the latest version of Neptune DXP - Open Edition for Windows from the product download section on Neptune DXP Portal.

  2. Unzip the ZIP file to a location of your choice which is different from your current installation folder.

  3. Make sure you have followed the prerequisite steps and that your instance is stopped.

  4. Open a Command Prompt or other shell for Windows.

  5. cd into your installation directory.

  6. Replace the current Neptune DXP - Open Edition installation files with the following files from the ZIP file:

    • hana-client.node

    • libdbcapiHDB.dll

    • LICENSES

    • node_sqlite3.node

    • planet9-linux.exe

  7. Run .\planet9-linux --upgrade and confirm the question on the command line with Yes.

    Result: The Windows notification Windows protected your PC might show.

  8. Select the hyperlink More info.

  9. To execute the planet9-win file, select Run Anyway.

    Result: The upgrade is executed and the schema of your database will be synchronized with the new Neptune DXP - Open Edition executable.

  10. Once the upgrade has finished, your instance can be started and stopped in the usual way.

  11. If this is your initial upgrade to the Neptune DXP 24 release, you now need to activate your license.
