Add and configure a remote system to your system

In this topic, you learn how to add and configure a connection to a Neptune DXP Edition remote system.

Prerequisites

  • You know the credentials for the remote system that you want to connect to.

Procedure

  1. In the Cockpit, go to Security and select Remote Systems.

    Result: The Remote Systems window opens with a table of available remote systems.

  2. Select Add to a new connection to a remote system.

    Result: The Remote Systems configuration window opens.

  3. In the General tab, make the following edits:

    1. In Name, enter a name for your system.

    2. Optional: In Role, select the role that the remote system obtains.

    3. Optional: In Package, assign a package that contains the connections to the other remote systems you want to copy to the remote system you want to add.

    4. In Type, select the DXP Edition from the dropdown you want to start the connection from..

  4. In URL, fill in the URL of the remote system.

  5. Select Allow Untrusted Certificates, if needed.

  6. In Authentication, enter the username and the password for the remote system you want to add. These can be the credentials of a user from the remote system.

    Instead of adding a username and a password, you can add an existing proxy authentication in the Authentication tab.
  7. OPTIONAL: In Token you can enter a JSON web token from the remote system. Generate the token in the service User.

  8. Select or clear Use client connection when deploying artifacts, as necessary.

  9. In Connection, select the Test connection symbol.

    Result: Your system connects to the remote system, and informs you if the attempt was successful.

  10. Select Save.

    Result: You have configured and added a remote system.
