Create an adaptive application in guided mode

The Adaptive Designer provides a guided mode to create an adaptive application. The guided mode enables the selection of relevant adaptive templates, connectors, and field assignments to facilitate adaptive application creation.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a connector or use a connector provided by Neptune DXP - Open Edition.

Procedure

  1. From the Adaptive Designer dialog, select Create.

Result: The Create dialog for creating adaptive applications opens with the Guided mode switch turned on by default.

You can turn the Guided mode switch on or off. The selection is stored upon creation of a new adaptive application.
  2. In Step 1 Type, select one of the following, relevant adaptive templates for your use case:

    • Calendar

    • Form

    • Grid

    • List/Table

    • Pivot Table/Graphical Visualization

    • Split Page Layout

    • Tile Chart

    • Tile Table

Each adaptive template contains a short description to identify which adaptive template is best suited for your use case. Select the (Documentation) icon to go to Neptune Documentation for further information about the adaptive template.
  3. Select Next.

  4. In Step 2 Data, select a connector to link your adaptive application to a data source.

If available, select the (Preview) icon to preview the connector, select the (Documentation) icon to view the internal documentation of the connector, or select (Open Connector) to go directly to the connector in the Connector tool.
  5. In Step 3 Field, select field that you want to display when you run your adaptive application, by selecting one or more checkboxes next to the fields, as required.

  6. In Step 4 Details, enter a meaningful name and description to describe your adaptive application, and optionally add it to a development package.

  7. Select Create.
