License

In the License tab, you can manage your license in the License Configuration wizard.

With Neptune DXP 24 we introduced a new licensing mechanism. The binary no longer contains a default trial license for two users.

If you have a customer license, the validity is calculated based on your existing subscription period and payment terms + 30 days. The validity is automatically updated when the next subscription period starts. A trial license will be valid for a period of 90 days with the possibility to renew it for another 90 days. The trial license for two users comes with no restrictions and gives you full access to the feature functionality of Neptune DXP - SAP Edition.

In general, you can configure two license types: online licenses and offline licenses. Online licenses are the default license type and are intended for systems with internet access. If your system has no internet access, you need to configure an offline license.

During the license configuration, you can either configure an online license or an offline license.

Configuring an offline license requires different steps. On request, you will be provided a license file by Neptune Software that is customized to your respective system.

By default, the licenses are supplied for productive usage. If you activate the license for nonproductive usage, generally you will be provided with 30 % of the users originally contained in the license for productive usage. There are exceptions to the rule when it comes to less than 50 users in a license.

For clarification, see the following examples:

  • License for productive usage contains 1000 users. → License for nonproductive usage contains 300 users.

  • License for productive usage contains 100 users. → License for nonproductive usage contains 50 users.

If the users will be calculated down to less than 50 users for nonproductive usage, the number of users for nonproductive usage will equal 50 users.

  • License for productive usage contains 10 users. → License for nonproductive usage contains 10 users.

If the number of users for productive usage is already less than 50 users, the number of users for nonproductive usage will equal the number of users for productive usage.
