Export and import limitations in the App Designer

For exporting and importing applications from the Neptune DXP - SAP Edition to Neptune DXP - Open Edition and vise versa it is not recommended due to technical differences.

If you proceed with that action, you may encounter issues related to the differences between the SAP UI5 and Open UI5 libraries, as well as the exporting API definitions (AJAX and REST API). To avoid such problems, we highly recommend starting your development in the App Builder. This ensures that you always have a solid foundation to build upon and continue your development seamlessly.

If you choose to proceed without following the recommended approach, you will need to manually replace certain components, API connections, and custom code development to restore full functionality to the application. It is important to note that this process can be time-consuming and require significant effort on your part.
