What is the Neptune DXP Launchpad?

The Neptune DXP Launchpad is a multi-device / multi-experience shell that hosts apps and provides the apps with services such as navigation, personalization, branding and embedded documentation, and application configuration in a role based access fashion.

launchpad1

Launchpad is the entry point to all of the enterprise on mobile and desktop devices. The Launchpad displays a home page with tiles, which can display live status indicators, such as the number of open tasks. Each tile represents a business application that the user can launch. The Launchpad is role-based, displaying tiles according to the user’s role.

All Tiles can embed rich UI applications and graphics providing a immersed experience to end users. The goal of the tiles is to provide a role based live dashboard where information can be consumed and be taken action upon.

The home page is the starting point of the Launchpad and the central access point for all enterprise applications.

The homepage contains tiles that can be personalized in size and sequence by the end user. The end user can select his own favorites by adding, removing, and grouping tiles. Due to the role base access combined with SSO and IDP the user will only see the tile that are relevant for the user.

Tile Groups

Tile groups are structures grouping of tiles, this extends the concept of role base access for users with a certain business role. Therefore, Launchpad tile groups only display tiles that allow users to launch apps. Tile Groups can consist of multiple Tiles and Tile Groups, its sequence and arrangement can be set centrally by DevOps.

Notifications

Users can be notified on desktop with local notifications and on mobile using push notifications.

The Notifications are groups and displayed to the end user on the top-right-hand side of the Launchpad. Notifications can be triggered by workflows, applications, Message Queues and microservices. Therefore, the notification list is capable of displaying notifications from various sources.
